Website maintenance cost in India
What a maintenance plan or AMC should include, what it usually leaves out, renewal costs and the red flags to check before you sign.
Our website maintenance services in India keep a live website secure, working and up to date after launch, so problems are caught before a customer runs into them. We look after WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Next.js and plain HTML sites, whether we built them or not, on a monthly plan or an annual maintenance contract (AMC). Because nearly all maintenance happens online, we can look after sites for businesses anywhere in India from our base in Rohtak, Haryana.
A website is not finished when it goes live. Plugins and frameworks release security fixes, SSL certificates and domains expire, payment gateways change their integrations, and a contact form can quietly stop sending enquiries long before anyone notices. Maintenance is the routine work that prevents those problems, and the fix when something breaks anyway.
Every plan is built from the same core jobs. How often each one runs, such as how frequently backups are taken, is set in your written scope according to how often your site changes and how much it matters to your business.
Most WordPress security problems start with plugins, not WordPress itself. Patchstack's State of WordPress Security in 2026 report counted 11,334 new vulnerabilities in the WordPress ecosystem during 2025: 91% were in plugins and only six in WordPress core. A site running twenty plugins that nobody updates is an easy target. Hacked business sites are often used to host spam pages or redirect mobile visitors elsewhere, and Google may warn searchers away from the site until it is cleaned.
Modern frameworks need care too. Next.js released fixes in 2025 for a critical middleware bypass (CVE-2025-29927) and, later that year, for a remote code execution flaw in React Server Components (CVE-2025-55182). A Next.js site that has not been updated since launch can still be exposed to issues like these.
Other failures have nothing to do with hackers: an SSL certificate that did not renew, a domain registered in a former developer's name that lapsed, a payment plugin that stopped confirming UPI orders after a gateway change, or a contact form whose emails started landing in spam. Each one costs enquiries or sales until someone spots it.
What needs doing depends on how your site was built.
WordPress sites usually need the most maintenance because they have the most moving parts: the core, a theme, often a page builder and many plugins, each updated on its own schedule. We check that the PHP version on your hosting is still supported, remove plugins you no longer use, replace abandoned ones, and test WooCommerce checkout, tax and GST settings and shipping rules after updates.
Shopify takes care of hosting, server security, SSL and platform updates, so Shopify store maintenance is about everything you control: theme updates and customisations, apps you stopped using that still load code, broken links and missing redirects after products are removed, product data and collections, and payment, shipping and cash on delivery settings. We also review new apps before you install them, because each one can add weight to the storefront.
There are no plugins to update, but there are framework and package dependencies, hosting configuration and build pipelines. We apply security releases, keep dependencies current enough that urgent patches are easy to install, watch for failed deployments, and check that pages still render correctly for search engines. Next.js, React and TypeScript are what we build with ourselves, so we work directly in the code.
Simple sites need less, but not nothing: hosting and domain renewals, SSL, forms and the occasional content change. They usually need only a light scope.
We work on a monthly plan or a website AMC, and quote one-off fixes separately. Both are built from the same written scope of updates, checks and edits; what changes is how it is billed and how easily the scope can be adjusted during the year.
If you are weighing up the options, our guide compares pay-per-fix, monthly plans and AMCs and what each should include.
Whatever you choose, get the meaning of a “small edit” in writing. Many maintenance disagreements come down to that one phrase.
A clear scope protects both sides. These are projects rather than upkeep, so we quote them separately when you need them:
The full list of what plans usually leave out, from third-party fees to SEO campaigns, is in our website maintenance cost guide.
Access and ownership check
We list every account the site depends on: domain registrar, hosting, CMS admin or Shopify, Google Search Console, analytics and the payment gateway. If any of them sit in a former developer's name, we help you move them into your business's name.
Baseline backup and health check
Before changing anything we take a full backup, then review software versions, plugins or dependencies, known vulnerabilities, broken pages, forms and speed.
Written scope
You get a list of what we found, what needs a one-time fix and what the ongoing plan covers, including exactly what counts as a small edit.
Clean-up
Urgent issues, such as outdated software with known vulnerabilities or backups that are not running, are fixed first.
Routine maintenance and reporting
Updates, checks and edits follow the agreed schedule, and each month you get a short report. Requests come to us on WhatsApp or by phone, in English or Hindi.
